
Record processing consists of creating, tracking and upgrading information relating to an administrative process. The information is grouped in processing records, which follow a particular workflow or workflows, sequentially or in parallel, depending on their type.
The life cycle of this record and its journey through the Workflow is managed by software tools known as WorkFlow Engines. These Workflow engines follow and are structured on workflows modeled in XPDL, with Process Modeling Tools.
