Users will be able to access the platform, developed by SEIDOR Opentrends, through a simple mobile app with real-time information for their panels

Contigo Energia, a subsidiary of the Gesternova Group specializing in renewable energy, is preparing to launch a new IoT platform that will allow its customers to access comprehensive real-time information on their solar panels. The platform was developed by SEIDOR Opentrends, a digital transformation solutions consultancy firm, and can be used through a simple mobile app.

Contigo Energía offers energy efficiency solutions to both individuals and companies located in Spain and Portugal through photovoltaic self-consumption and panel mobility, thus ensuring they always obtain an economic return. Contigo Energía is part of the Gesternova Group, alongside Gesternova Energía, an electricity distributor selling exclusively 100% renewable energy since 2005. As part of its continuous improvement process, Gesternova has set itself three main objectives: centralize and exploit the information generated, improve daily operations and establish better relations with its customers through increased direct contact.

After reviewing various options, Grupo Gesternova decided to select SEIDOR Opentrends’ proposal, presented jointly with AWS, for its project.

The solution: an end-to-end platform

The project involves combining a cloud-based architecture and .NET development IoT platform and a mobile app with React Native, thus connecting Contigo Energía's customers to their solar panels.

The new modular and scalable platform extracts and records production, consumption, surplus and savings data from each panel, this data being collected remotely and fed into the app in real time. The system ensures that the panel data is captured and sent to the end user and stored on the IoT platform for further processing and exploitation.

"SEIDOR Opentrends has adopted modern methodologies that have enabled us to adjust the project to our requirements, doing so in line with the highest standards of scalability", explains Victor Álvarez, Grupo Gesternova’s Systems Director.

By implementing this new system, Contigo Energía aims to achieve key objectives such as enhancing engagement with its customers, keeping them better informed on their solar panels and thus generating valuable data to support decision-making.

“The Gesternova Group selected our proposal because we combine multiple differential factors,” explains Carlos Puga, SEIDOR Opentrends Chief Technology Officer, “such as extensive experience in real IoT and Cloud projects, customized solutions to support their key applications, a methodology can be adapted to the needs of any project and  a multidisciplinary expert team able to meet all design, usability, cloud architecture, IoT  and other requirements at any time.
