Opentrends commits to the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Global Compact

Last December, Opentrends joined the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact with the will to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals approved in the 2030 Agenda.

This is one step forward in our wish to have a positive impact on society through technology and innovation. At Opentrends, we understand that innovative technology has the potential to change the world for the better. All of us, as persons, organizations, etc. have, to a greater or lesser extent, the power to activate change. Every grain of sand counts! Business organizations have the opportunity and responsibility to be an agent of change by introducing the so-called ESG criteria (Environment, Social and Governance) in our activities and processes.

From our position of technological leadership, we have understood our part of responsibility and have reflected it in different ways, for example, by supporting teleworking and work-life balance, applying initiatives such as anti-harassment policies or promoting the use of inclusive language. By joining the Global Compact, we eagerly reinforce our commitment to people, clients and society.

The United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies and organizations to align their strategies and operations with the Ten Principles on human rights, labor standards, environment and the fight against corruption. Since 2015, it has the UN mandate to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the private sector, and its mission is to generate an international movement of sustainable companies that help to create the world we want.

Companies joining the United Nations Global Compact must work on both frameworks together, the Ten Principles and the 17 SDGs, committing to implement them internally and, therefore, to respect human rights and labor standards, to preserve the environment and to act with transparency in their activities and operations.
