Opentrends, the technology consultancy firm specialized in digital transformation solutions, announced today that it will again be present at the IoT Solutions World Congress, which this year will take place in Barcelona on May 10, 11 and 12. The company will have a stand in the Ajuntament de Barcelona (Barcelona City Council) area.

Organized by Fira de Barcelona in association with the Industry IoT Consortium®, the IoT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) is the largest international technology event for this sector. In this sixth edition and under the slogan "Disruptive technologies for the transformation of the industry”, the event gets back to its on-site mode to gather in the Gran Via venue (Pavilion 4) more than 300 exhibitors and 200 speakers that will discuss the latest trends in digital transformation.

Opentrends’ star product in the congress framework will be Thingtia, a SaaS cloud version of Sentilo, an open source IoT platform developed by the firm for the Barcelona City Council and used by a wide community of cities and public bodies of our country such as the Provincial Deputation of Barcelona (Diputació de Barcelona), the Terrassa City Council or the Catalan Water Agency (Agència Catalana de l’Aigua). Now available in the cloud, Thingtia allows companies and organizations of all types and sizes to implement this ecosystem in "pay-per-use" mode with flexible SaaS models with which they will be able to manage their own private instance or deploy it on their servers, being free to change the service model depending on their needs.

The main idea that inspired Sentilo was to develop an IoT technology that would improve citizens’ quality of life and allow the creation of sustainable territories through the management of information collected by sensors distributed in the cities. Thus, we have seen how Sentilo became a key piece for Barcelona to burst onto the map of smart cities.”, explains Carlos Puga, CTO of Opentrends. “Now, with Thingtia, this IoT platform is available in the cloud, with an open and scalable architecture, easing its adoption to anyone and without incurring the expenses and implementation times of on-premise solutions”.
