As part of the Connectivity Days, event organiser, the University of Vic (UVic,) has showcased its private metaverse with interaction elements accessible through a 3D campus.

This week, SEIDOR Opentrends, SEIDOR's digital transformation subsidiary, was present at Connectivity Days, a space for discussion and exchange of experiences organised by the University of Vic - Universidad Central de Cataluña (UVic-UCC) on the topic of simulation and creation of technological realities for the education sector. The event, which concludes today after two days of work, was held in the UVic auditorium, located in the Faculty of Business and Communication (FEC).

Improving the learning process and reducing reading comprehension barriers in companies and public organisations are challenges for which SEIDOR Opentrends provides solutions with immersive platforms and content, thus increasing the employability of people and their degree of involvement in the organization. As part of the conference, Carles Roca, senior executive manager of SEIDOR Opentrends, shared the latest trends in the metaverse framework with the presentation "Creating a private metaverse and 360º video educational content".

During his presentation, Carles Roca presented several use cases in the business environment, with commercialisation, marketing, training and operations functions in various sectors such as retail, banking, automotive and consumer package goods.

Also presented were Futura Space's innovative Spacecreator tools, which has allowed the creation of a Proof of Concept (PoC) of UVic's private metaverse and interaction elements; and Uptale, a 360º immersive video content creation tool. Using both, the manager demonstrated in his discourse how it is possible, when using the right tools, to create a learning experience without excessive technical-teaching knowledge.

The SEIDOR Opentrends Talent and Marketing team hosted the University students and faculty who participated in the Connectivity Days. The group of attendees participated by creating content and customising avatars.

"The way in which we use technology is constantly evolving, and in recent years we have witnessed a major transformation in the way we relate to the environment," explains Baptista Borrell, director of EdTech at SEIDOR Opentrends. "Immersive technologies are one of the main trends in education and training, as they facilitate interaction with simulated professional scenarios and enhance learning with creative and experiential experiences." "These types of innovation-based initiatives focused on new learning models, and SEIDOR Opentrends’ participation in these conferences organised by the University of Vic demonstrate, once again, our commitment and focus on the higher education sector," concludes Baptista.
